Many years of service to Unitos has brought Corbican great wealth, prosperity and power. From youth, he has risen to different ranks in office until he has attained that which he dreamed of, Patriarch, the ruler of the Unitology. Many friends came and went; many enemies lurked in the shadows. But through unwavering faith in Unitos, here Corbican stood, outlasting them all. He thought converting everyone to believe in Unitos was the right thing to do. This is why these recent reports troubled him. Looking into the eyes of the messenger he asked, “Are you sure these reports are accurate”?
Bishop Theodore responded, “Yes, the Crusaders have sacked another system and converted 50 million people to Unitos. They killed 8 million in the process and have displaced countless more.”
Converting so many should have brought joy to Corbican, but it didn’t. When Corbican sent General Mildred on this crusade he thought it was the right thing to do. Unitology believers were dwindling. People were starting to believe in other religions and dare he say it, evolution. The thought sickened Corbican, so he sent General Mildred out to convey the will of Unitos. Convert the non-believers. But the General took it too far. He did things far too aggressively, and is abusing the power that was bestowed upon him. Killing all who oppose him and disobeying all orders to cease and desist. It was treason of the highest order and it was all Corbican’s fault. It was now that Corbican actually felt his age.
Old and decrepit, Corbican felt his time to meet the almighty Unitos was drawing near. Soon all the misery would go away and he would leave this mortal world to enjoy eternal happiness. But that time was not now. Before he goes anywhere Corbican swears to Unitos that he will stop this evil that he has created and restore faith in the religion that made him who he is.
To the bishop Theodore he replies, “Gather the generals and ready the Imperial fleet. Let it be known that the Unitology shall rid the universe of the renegade Crusader faction once and for all.”
